HCI is committed to being a leader in sustainability by providing green products whenever technologically feasible and practical, by employing sustainable manufacturing techniques and technology, while packaging our product in material that is both recycled and recyclable. Environmental aspects will be given the highest consideration when making product and packaging choices.

To meet the demand for products that offer green cleaning and sustainability, HomeCare has undertaken life-cycle assessments of several of its products to understand the environmental impact of both its products and packaging. We have made a number of changes to our new product design, and our existing products, to reduce raw material and energy use and minimize solid wastes. Examples include:

• Increased focus on the use of renewable resources.
• Increased use of recycled materials and materials that can be recycled in product and packaging.
• Systematic reduction of the footprint of our products, including primary and secondary (shipping) packaging.
• Eliminated use of PVC packaging.

The Company’s Floor Care accessory products are consistent with the cleaning and maintenance best practices outlined in [LEED®] Existing Building Operations and Maintenance guidelines. Additionally, the Company’s products are compliant with the European Union Directive on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment (commonly referred to as [RoHS]).
